Real-Time Distribution Case Study, Week 53: Tick-Tock Six Weeks Until Theatrical

Previous ... Next

A lot can happen in six weeks. A whole movie can be prepped and filmed. An RV can make its way across the country and back. A film can be released into the world.

Here we go!

I walked with my Executive Producer today discussing the release and what still needs to be done. I found myself using her as a sounding board, asking — what are we missing, what do we not see, what can we do better?

There are certainly a lot of answers to those questions, and I’ll keep asking them, but for now, I’ll do the best possible with the information I currently have, and not give up, keep learning, keep going, continue growing.

Possibly instead of focusing on what I do not know, I’ll focus on what isworking and master those tasks (since there are so many!)

This week, my theme is ship. We are finally completing deliverables (including video and audio masters, closed captioning and M&E.) We are ordering, printing, and shipping promo materials and gift packs to businesses in the theatrical communities, and I am organizing our merchandise inventory.

In parallel, our theatrical team is working on national press, reviews and social media. All is with the aim of getting a minimum of three hundred people to each theater over opening weekend six weeks from this coming Friday.

Six weeks, five weeks, … three weeks… tick-tock-tick-tock!
